Going to be a total loss for sure, thought it was a sedan and hoping it was only door damage.

That much dent and damage will surely cost over $7000 (more than the car value) just to cut, weld, replace, straighten the frame, and paint.

If you do really love the car that much, you can salvage the car, buy it back, fix it, but it won't be worth it. Expect to get atleast a $3000-$5500 paycheck from your insurance depending on mileage and clean/salvage title.

Damage actually doesnt look that bad. Most cost would be from repainting. That panel can be rolled and hit out from the inside and wouldn't be to hard. Just body work on the outside and paint. looks around 2000 or less from what im seeing.

^all these guys could be right, usually if its more than half the value of the car then it's deemed totaled :/ if she hit you 2 feet forward itd only be like $500, but she hit you on the crease or body line of the quarter panel, probably one of the worst possible places, very hard to pull and patch and get the lines all straight. the correct way to fix is to get another panel new or used and weld it in, which can get expensive.
usually this whole panel honda parts
so you might get a quote for a pop, pull, and bondo job for $600 and still see where you were hit when it's done or someone that does it correctly but charges $2000, whatever happens, best of luck

sorry to hear about this man, I hate that our coupes have such a big quarter panel. Hopefully you come out ahead in this situation.

Definitely total loss material.

Fight for the highest possible payout and get it fixed yourself. Insurance usually totals a car when the damage exceeds 50-60% of their "value".

I was recently backed into and hailed on all within the same month. Insurance merged the claims and deemed it a total loss. I waited it out and told them right away no matter what I'm keeping it. I ended up with $2400 and I keep my 98 coupe with no title changes and no coverage changes. I just have to provide proof of repairs once it's done.

That quarter panel damage destroys what happened to me when I was backed into though. GL with this .. be patient and make sure you get what you want.

The insurance is going to fix it at a body shop of my choice. I am taking it to a shop where we have always taken our cars. The estimator said it was 1055 to fix, but I have a feeling the body shop us going to give us a different estimate. We will see. He thinks it can be popped out from the inside. If theyre going to fix it, Im going to be very picky on how it looks when its done.
