rogers price is more than fair, i did my tails the way that he mentioned, on a standard pcb and just "wired" them together. here's an example of one of my boards... this board alone is like 5-6hrs of work . there are two of these in my center tail, and a total of 4 more for both corners.... custom led work is no joke, its far more difficult and time consuming than a headlight retrofit. each of my leds has 4 legs, there are close to 500 leds in my entire tail light setup, every 4 leds has a resistor... then count the connections on the voltage regulator boards.... thats more soldering than anyone can imagine. my lights have been sitting around unfinished for close to a year now because its such a daunting task that i just done feel like spending so many hours to finish it up. especially since time is scarce now a days.
im not even sure i like the design i chose. it was cool back when i started over a year ago but now im not so sure. and i dont really like the look of these leds behind the stock lens so i'd need to spend money on a altezza set and that more money i dont feel like spending. if i could go back in time, i wouldnt have even started this project.
good luck roger... remember the days when i would pm you about simple *** led questions, now im tackling my own projects![]()
thank you for sharing your input Vimal. i guess you really wont know how much work and time is needed unless you try it .. right? hehe
where is the best place to get those superflux? are they philips?
i have an altezza set of tails....buuuut its for a sedan..but if it's still helpful for you..i'll sell it to you dirt cheap..there just sitting in my room
thank you for the offer bro, but i really have no use for sedan tails.
