contact magnaflow and see if you can get DOT Compliant numbers or paperwork. just something that will prove that your exhaust was made to be, and still is, DOT compliant.

i believe its 95 decb.

but the thing is i dont think your exhaust is under 95 decb. so if you go to cour with that argument, and they actually check, your fcuked.

I suppose, but then again how would they check? They'd just tell me to go to a garage and have a test done and my friend that works at Tire Plus has me covered in that area.

similar to testing the tint, they should have this little device that has a mic on it and it'll process the sound and measure the decbs. thats what i heard.

Wouldn't that mean they'd give me a specific shop to go to? I don't know, fairfax county courts are pretty damn lazy. They really like to give sentences and just let the plaintiff figure out everything else. I'm hoping they'd just say get it done and not give me a specific rape garage. Rape garages FTL

Alright here we go, I got a response from Magnaflow and this is what it says:

"MagnaFlow cat back systems are 100% emissions legal and do not require EPA or CARB certification, as the systems are installed from behind the catalyst and do not alter the vehicle’s emissions system. They are sound compliant in all 50 states, but if you've done other mods, you may no longer be in compliance. We often hear reports about people getting cited for modified exhaust. In most states, these tickets are an inconvenience requiring you to get inspected at an authorized facility. 90% of these tickets are thrown out and candidly, some police officers are over-zealous and ill-informed of these statutes. Your only recourse is to have the system independently tested...manufacturer-provided certificates of compliance mean nothing in a court of law because Judges know that other modifications influence a vehicle's sound level."

So I'm thinking this eliminates my ability to bring in a form to prove its street legal, but I have headers and an intake so...I can't tell what they'd say if I went to court. *slides hand down face* damnit...

not necessarily, its a device that somes cops carry. I was pulled over a month or so ago and the cop whipped out a device and hung it on my window...it measured my tints. 15% =]

you dont have to get it removed, i have had the same bs happen to me. doesnt really make sense bc bikes have no laws against it that is why they can be so loud and get away with it which is retarded. pay the fine and keep the exhaust, youll get that one guy that is on his rag and just pulls you over for dumb stuff. and as for headlights, the light has to shine white on the road, not what it looks like in the housing, just fyi
