the only chinese thing in/on my car are my "jdm visors" made in taiwan (so kind of debatable)...and i think i used generic rotors.

I'm willing to bet it has a lot to do with the cost of their products. They could lower their prices and still be competitive. Once a name goes big prices follow along.
