I contacted koni and anything more than 650 requires revalving so with those rates you should be good Chris!

^Full coilovers could end up being a better direction for you, D.

Chris, will the koni's be able to handle the firmer spring rates? I've heard that you may need to get the shocks "re-valved" when getting firmer springs...

I had read a little about that a couple places, but for whatever reason I just didn't feel too worried about it, I thought since my rates were well below most stock full coilover rates that it would be fine.

Where did you confirm that the sportlines are 171/314? Is that an average or something since they're progressive?

Post #159. I called Eibach and asked for the rates for our part number (#4.4140 for V6). The i4 rates are probably a little lower.

314/171 are the top end (firmest) of the rates for front and rear Sportlines. I used them to compare the firmest rate the Sportlines could even get to, to the rates of the GC's. Just wanted to know what kind of jump I was making when the springs are at their firmest, which has ended up being roughly doubling the firmess. Course the way different types of springs behave factors in too.

You are awesome for finding this out and sharing it here, thanks a lot! Great info to add to the thread, repped.

Now I can rest easy. :)

Talked with Fairoze about what he found out from Koni, seems the 650lb limit for the yellows is the 11.6K springs.

So, in an effort to avoid any and all unnecessary extra costs, I would probably go with those since I was looking to go with a 12/10 setup anyway.

That 650lb limit was with the Koni's on full stiff as well, and that's not happening with my car, so I should be good with that setup.

Awesome that you got these so quickly, Chris.

Will have to get in touch with this seller and find out some details for my plans as well.

Yeah, it is, it makes me a little nervous. But when I think about how little wheel gap I want to run and how the tires are flush with the fender (my fenders aren’t rolled), I know I need something pretty stiff to keep the tire from contacting the fender under normal driving conditions. And 10/8 is softer than 12/8 which is what most coilovers start around I think, so hoping this is just what I need. And again, I also hope that the dampening adjustability of the Yellows might help play a role.

Luckily nearly all the roads I drive on on a daily basis are pretty decent, it was only over the weekend that I drove on a really bad road and the ride as it is now was unpleasant. Can’t imagine going over that with my new setup…if I have to go to that part of town again I’ll take the wife’s car lol.

If 11.6 is the max you can go, you’ll definitely want to find out from your vendor what the closest rate is that Eibach can get to first. You may only have choice of 11.2 or 11.9, just for example. I had to choose between 9.8 and 10.7 basically, so it can vary and you may have to pick the “lesser of two evils”.

I am very impressed with this vendor, when I saw the shipping notification pop up only a day or two after I ordered, I thought for sure something had gotten mixed up. But nope, they had rushed my order, and sent me my custom rates and the correct kit for use with Koni’s. Definitely recommend them.

The box my Sportlines came in was 4 times as big as this one lol, these seem so small. And there's no hardware I guess...

Just sent them an email, so we'll see what happens.

Nice of them to mark which are F/R.

Hope you enjoy them. Let us know if they are once you installed them. I've been thinking about either getting different springs or coilovers.
