Hmm has he dialed up the firmness on his Yellows at all? For someone like me who doesn’t want to slam the car, and between and with a shock/coilover sleeve combo that gives full dampening/height adjustability…I think it’s perfect. I would just advise for anyone who wants to have zero finger gap…go with stiffer rates.

And yea like Steven said, check my MR page. :)

what would that rate be now that you have tried the 10.7/8? really thinking of ordering the sleeves soon. thanks.

Answering your questions from my visitor messages...

congrats on the new car set up.

i hope the new GC sleeve is treating your back well.
So how's the ride quality compare to you previous set up?
I would really want to hop into your coupe and try out the new combo. Like you, i'm more into function and form. And the line that separates the two is so thin.
I got the look and the ride quality that i'm aiming for with the sportline/yellows. But my subframe suffers with every sudden deep hole and bumps on the road even with full turns on the yellow. I think i need a stiffer springs.

thanks for creating the GC thread. You said on the later page that you should have gone with stiffer to have a no-gap drop.. what is that rate then?

thanks a lot.

Ride quality is firmer than Sportlines, but not any less tolerable. I was very surprised at how comfortable 10.7/8 is. Ride is great. I've learned that it's better to go with stiffer springs to yield less suspension travel, Rather than have to firm up the shock dampening...turning up the Yellows the full 2 turns was a little too harsh.

I could probably do 12-12.5 in front, and 10 in rear. BUT...

Kamozee called Koni who said that if you go with a rate higher than 650, that the shocks have to be revalved. So If you go higher than 11.6 I think, you need to consider that. I personally didn't want to mess with that.

I am hoping rolling my fenders will fix my situation, we'll see tomorrow.

Okay I finally have everything sorted, after rolling the fenders and shaving some of the bumper tab. I’ve lowered to the final ride height & have driven for a few days & all is well…so the end result:

- I achieved zero finger gap (actually tucking tire a tad).
- I am at 24.5” ground to fender front and rear.
- Front Yellows are on bottom perch, and the collar is 1” from the bottom of the sleeve. Rear Yellows are on top perch, and collar is 1.5” from the bottom of the sleeve.
- I do not rub on the fenders, nor the bumper tab under normal everyday driving and pulling in/out of driveways.
- Yellow dampening is at 1.5 turns front and rear.

The good:
- Spring rates ended up being perfect, the car rides comfortably enough with no rubbing, and I still can increase or decrease the shock dampening.
- GC’s are well made, easy to adjust, and look pretty. And like I said they ride great.
- The springs are small and so much easier to manipulate in/out of the wheel well than progressive springs.
- Achieved the exact look and feel I was shooting for.

The bad:
- My fronts creak a little when pulling in/out of driveways or going over a bumpy road. It’s subtle and not exactly consistent, but it’s there. I did have the bowl washers on the top of the Yellows (under the two top nuts) upside down, I just turned them the other way last night so we’ll see if it stops.

Overall impression:
- Satisfied! All that’s left to do is get an alignment.

Sorry I have not added the install photos yet, I’ll get to that. Thanks again to all for contributing to this thread. :)

Quick pics.

I don't recall the specific seller, I may have mentioned them a few pages back. $388 shipped if I remember right.

The seller is Undercaroutfitter. The GC's are 388 shipped. Mine should be arriving in 2weeks.

How do you double check to make sure they sent you the right spring rates for custom rates?

I would think it would be written right on the spring itself. How would it show though? example (600/450 or 10k/8k) I know 600 does not = 10k fyi
