I don't know about Nevada, but here in California we cannot have older motor into newer cars, i'm pretty sure it wont pass smog + inspection if it was to happen.

Usually cars that are swapped but bard are the only one that can pass smog, it's a slight chance for cars that aren't bard and have a swap to pass smog. Unless you want to pay 100-300 to pass.

Check local laws. Some states don't really care as long as it passes a generic test. Some states just care if it passes at the same level your car is (if you are ULEV, it must meet those standards). In CA, it has to pass your car's standards, and the engine must be the same year or newer, with all emissions equipment hooked up the same as OEM. Some places don't smog.

Anyway, in CA, it's as easy as calling highway patrol.

My euro-r h22 swap is obd2b just like my factory f23a4 but the h22 only runs one o2 sensor. I'm also running the factory h22 ecu and have no cel's whatsoever. Unfortunately I haven't taken it to a smog place to see if it would pass. Does anyone know if it would pass with only one o2 sensor? I don't want to get fcked so I just decided to pay for it to get passed. It would be nice not to have to over pay.

I think you can get a smog check just to see if it would pass. I believe you are allowed to get smog check your car for your own reasons, not sure if it gets reported to the state. You could probably figure out by saying "I was wondering if I can get it done cheaper since you don't have to report it to the state" and see what they say.

You may fail the visual though. They have tried to fail me for visual 3x for different things. One tried to fail me for my OEM BOV on my Talon. They didn't understand what it did so the go to is to fail me. Another shop claimed my exhaust manifold was aftermarket on my Honda. I actually almost got into a fist fight because they tried to claim I had an engine swap last time due to my painted valve covers (he was the aggressive one, I was just telling him that he needed to prove this all to me). These where all at different shops. I swear, even on a stock car they try to fail you as you pay the same money and they don't have to do any work.

Is your swap legal in Cali? You almost need to go through the BAR process to pass in CA these days. The nice thing is it will probably add some resell value to your car. The ironic thing is it makes it easy to put on non legal parts because the mechanics see the sticker and just scan it, don't check for things.
