Hey guys, and gals. Ive recently got some headers for my 99 v6 sedan(accord) and i've been wondering about a good cat back system or is I can just get a pair of mufflers? or if it'd just be a waste and I just should save up to get a whole system, thanks. Also about the headers, are they an easy enough install if i've already done my intake? I did my intake without any experience under the hood and it came out perfectly fine but i'm just worried about the headers because they attached to the cat. tips on install would be great, thanks

Unscrew bolts, replace gaskets, use adequate gasket sealant, mount new headers, screw bolts back in, done.

Of course there may be a couple minor things in there as well, but that is pretty much the main steps.

I'd go ahead and invest in a good seized/ rusted bolt spray bc chances are those bolts are going to be seized and rusted.

And about the exhaust question. With all the cars I've modded I have always found it easier to buy the muffler I wanted and take it to a "muffler" shop and have them weld new exhaust pipe from my headers down to my muffler. And by doing that I know how it will look and fit.

Headers are a headache for reasons mentioned by AllGOnoshow. Be prepared.

As for the exhaust, read up on the reviews in the exhaust review thread. Lots of good info there. I'd go full catback for a V6 but that's just me.

PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench (or any penetrating oil) will work fine, WD-40 is pretty much only good for water displacement.

Gasket sealant... look for a tube of RTV Gasket Maker... I think the red stuff is good to 500ºF, blue might be higher.
