Help!!!!

car starts up fine and lights on the cluster work but it doesnt show any movement with the rpm gauge. when i press the brake petal it wont let me push the button in to get out of park. my dads already pissed about one bad grade and hes asking me why im not moving my car. i'd like to solve this asap

There's a slot next to the shifter. Remove that little plug and push a screw driver down in. You'll then be able to select a gear without the brake, or pushing the button in.

i popped the panel up and pushed the screw driver in. i got the car moved. but now im wondering why i need to do that in the first place and why my cluster is showing no movement. the things above the fuel gauge dont light up, only the battery and key lights.

No, never put a screw driver in that slot.

Remove the trim ring, push your key in, then select the gear.
