ok well to start off i dont even have a accord yet..but im not new to hondas. i currently own a 2000 saturn 5speed sl2 with many mods. but ive just always loved the accords(especailly the v6 ones). i have a friend with a v6 2004 and its just awsome. i dont even care if its a automatic its just the right car to have. unfortunately i can not afford a 7th gen accord. the limit is going to be around 4k. after reading about the v6 trasmition issues im kind scared to get one. i wanted to know is it worth it to get a v6 6th gen and whats the chances of my transmition going bad? i plan on getting a 6th gen no matter what but its between the v6 auto or the f22 5 speed.

Omg this is going to have so much fighting between members. My take is- I have a v6, and I love it... but sometimes I wish I had the i4 5speed... The chances are the tranny will fail on it... its pretty much guaranteed. Also, now that I think of it, you're going to have a ridiculously hard time finding a v6 for 4k. I'm not too sure on 4 cyl prices, but I think that's pushing it for a 4 cylendor too. But you should find a way to get a 6th gen, they're beautiful. (Get a coupe!!!) ;)

It's an F23, and my recommendation would be to get an I4 5MT. The V6's are nice but unless you're willing to shell out the 2g for a new transmission, I'd play it safe and stick with an I4.

yea IMO, the 4cyls are alot easier to maintain than the v6's... never had a problem with any of my 4cyl accords but the V6, has an oil leak that is a mother to fix so u know

4cyl ftw

Get a I4 MT becuase it will save you in Trany replacement and better gas milage, some AV6 never have any issue with the trany like my mom 00 AV6 the car was purchased brand new and the trany still doing the job normal lol.

well if i get the i4 i will be boosting it. because there just too slow imo. should i get the dx or lx (one has 130hp and the other 150 i think). im just looking to get around 200-220 to the wheels on stock internals. the thing is is that i could easly do that with the v6 just buy n/a and tuning. before this even happens i still need to sell my saturn

also i read about the warranty thing in the faq about the trannys and it said that for 2002 the warranty wasnt extended because the transmition problem was fixed? is that true?
