I'm sorry but you wouldn't catch me dead paying that much for a "Mugen" civic. It's nothing but stiffer suspension & a body kit. For as much as that car is going to sell for you could make a hell of a lot faster and better looking civic. The sedan just looks like ***, I'm sorry.

insert "polishing a turd comment" here

but the fact that only 500 will be made will make it a rare novelty piece, for those that can afford it anway

Ah but think of it like this..Only 500 of them cars will come FROM THE FACTORY with them parts. That is not saying you cannot buy them parts from Mugen to get the exact same look. If them 500 sell fast, Mugen will jump on it and start producing the body kit and other parts to capitalize on it. I think this is more less to see how Mugen would fare in the US market compared to HFP.

man, took honda long enough to team up with mugen.... kinda like TRD and toyota imo... but like u guys said, execution is very bad... they should have done the dominator civic si instead....

as for diesel motors, it's gonna be big cos the gov is revamping the diesel refinaeries and laws, making the quality high and equal across the board... but yeah, it will be at least 3 yrs for all the diesel reformation to take place... diesel is just cheaper and more efficient than gasoline, so demand for diesel will def go up after the quality goes up too

as for having a simple vtec engine just for the tuner market is kinda stupid imo... remember tht as car companies get more sophisticated, so do the tuners ;)

TRD and Toyota is in my opinion is one of the best manufacture tuner mix on the market today. Mazdaspeed is coming out with some pretty impressive cars though. I just find it hard to believe Mugen went to Honda and didn't make any engine changes.

^^werd... i think Honda is just using the "mugen" brand to up expectations and hopefully increase demand for the si sedan, and the 8th gen civic line as a whole... the partnership between mugen and honda is long overdue imo

damn, we sound like honda exec or something lol

Although I hope the relationship goes further than the Civic. I do think sooner or later they will introduce engine mods but I think they want to "test the waters" first.

I dunno but their products are terribly overpriced i.e. $400 for a mugen airbox or $50 for a radiator cap.

I would think that "Rice" mods would appeal to an entirely different group of people as engine mods though, but maybe the execs don't consider that :driving:
