honestly its all about who you know. and honda tuning and honda-tech are extremely close. so if this guy is close with honda-tech he got some strings pulled to get featured. but props none the less to the guy. but seriously you need to drop your car :)

also you guys can look it the optimistic way. the more 6th gens that get featured the more the editors of magazines will consider featuring 6th gens, so our chances are better. cause lets face it the 6th gen accord is like the black sheep of the honda tuning community. most honda guys like the way it looks but thats about it.

finally no offense mikeymike but if you think you deserve a feature you have more work ahead of you. dont get me wrong i love the way you modded your car, but if you dont have the connections and you want to be featured you have to go far and beyond (and even then its not a guarentee). i know people that spent 50 grand or more (thats not including the car) that havent been featured yet. i dont know how it is else where but getting featured is like winning at a major socal car show if you dont know them you aint winning. and if anyone wants to disagree on the car show thing ill tell you some stories.

He is basically the OG 6thgen dude from what i know. I remember seeing his pics years ago and so many people being soo surprised that this was even possible. I've also seen much better pics of his car, i don't know what has changed over the years.

As for a feature though Mikey, how much effort have you put into it. From what i've seen/heard, it's like the music industry combined with the skateboard industry, except you have to spend more money. It doesn't matter how cool what you have is if you don't promote like crazy, attend events, and make connections. I can name atleast 10 eclipse/talon owners i know personally that have far nicer cars than i've ever seen in mags who will never get a feature because they don't care and won't put the effort into getting a feature. It's funny when the dopest car in a mag is in the readers ride section.

Word, I remember his car a couple years ago. Its tight, the pictures dont do it great justice. Its done right, and not overly gawdy. Thumbs up for him getting the mag spread.

You guys cant be serious.

That is Redneckdaves car from Honda-Tech and it is light years ahead of you mikey. Just cuz you got a kit and custom paint job dont mean your car has got more on him. Simplicity is key now, not going all out wild and being dumped to the ground. It is Honda "TUNING", not Import Tuner we are discussing here. Different cars qualify for different mags.

Im not trying to knock on you but you seriously got too much smoke blown up your's.

He's a mod on H-T and H-T is pretty big so Im sure some strings were pulled for him to get that feature. Props none the less since he did do the swap by himself and has had it for a minute now.

ok ok, you have some points, but if "simplicity" is key now, how come ANY and i mean ANY car show you go to now, simplicity wins you ****. garbage cars win everything, and im not the only one who sees this. your panels can be gapped, your audio could be falling off, your stitching can be ripping, but hey you have neon green paint with barney airbrushed on the hood.. YOUR A WINNER!!!!!!! like i said i cred him caz its a 6thgen, but i would rather see someone like sirsig, or dreman.. sirsig has "simplicity". you want to say its honda "tuning". your going to tell me he has sirsig beat? no. he has dreman beat? no there are A LOT of 6thgens out there that beat that car across the board. its just being in the right place at the right time

last car show i was at, guy wrote down all mild and stock on my form but 50% of the people there came up to me and said i like yours more then everyone else caz its clean and simple. all around good looking car. i dont care if i win anything, gaining the respect of people and knowing i didnt fail building a car feels better then any trophy can do. but obviously the ultimate goal is a magazine so everyone can see it. :coffee: /end rant

Don't get me wrong, its a nice 6th gen (I would drive it), but it just seems that it could have alot more done to it to look alot better. I'm sure that he has all these connections to get into the magazine and all, I would just change some things on it like give it a better drop and change those headlights, etc. If your gonna have a fast car, then you might as well make it look good too but I guess everyone has there own opinion on things like Honda's especially when they can go many different ways. I give me props for all the work done to the engine and I like his wheels lol

+1 on what Vince said.

Honda Tuning has said it before when people write in about not seeing any accords in their mag. No one with one writes in or submits pictures for them saying they think their car should be featured.

You want mag coverage? Write to them.

IMO - If you're building your car just so you can get some mag coverage, you're building it for the wrong reasons. If you build it and it just so happens to get featured, all the more power to you. Sponsored cars that 70% of the time never see the road and cars put together 90% in a shop do not belong in mags. Unfortunately, thats not the way it works.
