Hood insulation? Can it be removed?

Lawlers. My teacher is a firefighter as well... he says if there is a car fire they will put it out and 100% of the time the car is totaled.

Yeah Finchy......it's my understanding that a lot of the time they just let it burn because they're hard to put out with all the burning gas, oil, synthetic materials, etc. They just keep water on it to keep it from spreading.

i think its there to protect the paint on your hood actually, i may be wrong however, but you have hot sun on one side and a hot engine on the other im sure that might shorten the life of your paint...without it im sure your hood could reach some pretty high temps.

I had mine off for several months with no problems..i gave it away to a member on here when he bought off a hood from me..if i woulda known it was worth that much i woulda gone up with the price lol..oh wells
