Yes, I'm calling you out HondaLuver. I only see you log in to criticize people and offer useless advice to feed your obese ego.

Yeah I kinda noticed that too lately when he posts. Maybe something tragic happened in his life? It is uncalled for though, agreed.

Back to topic, I'm going to carefully remove mine tomorrow because it's fraying haha. Prolly sell it.

I ripped mine off. I'm a big fan of keeping things that were engineered to be there, but my very similar 5th gen didn't have one so I doubt its very important.

And how can you judge someone because they decided to remove something that they think improves the appearance? Does that imply we have permission to say your wheels look like **** and you should have kept your beat up, but higher quality factory wheels because they're expensive and engineered to be on the car?

I ripped the one off my old 91 accord then one day when I leaned back and rested my hand on the hood it pushed in just enough to touch my battery terminal and shocked the **** out of me and burned a hole straight through my hood. but who cares about that it looked good :lolhitting:

that was sarcasm btw. :coffee:

Mines off cause of the swap, otherwise I would keep it on. Also I think it might affect the paint on the hood.

I used a dremel and cutting disc for the adhesive, just be careful not to cut the hood from inside out, leaving scars on the other side =/

Actually I was generally saying that some people take things off without really knowing or understand what they are used for. Like yourself, you really have no clue why it's there.

It's used as a fire retardant, sound absorber, battery protector and it also keeps the paint on your hood from getting too hot. The plastic clips will melt and allow the blanket to fall onto the engine in case there is a fire.

I may sound like a jerk sometimes but I'm not, I just tend to say stuff without really noticing if I'm being an a$$. You have no right to say I only log on to slam other members, I offer members useful information without being dishonest about it. You don't even know how many peoples car I work on for free in the real world. I admit, I am a little bit rough around the edges, But I mean well generally. If my posts annoy you or offend you, then I'm sorry.

I've been through too many ****ty things in the past 5 years, I'm just trying to put all this garbage behind me. Sadly, I do come off as an asshole sometimes when Im not trying to be. I'm battling a little bit of PTSD, so sometimes I can be a little loopy, sorry fellas, really I mean it.

No problem, its just something to be conscious of when posting. I respect anyone who is man enough to apologize, so no biggie dude.

One problem i do see with those arguments are... some cars simply dont even have them. Like my 2000 civic 2dr for instance. The one that I flipped didnt have one, and my friends dont have them either... so why would our accord NEED it, and the civic not?

Yes im sure it does help and have a purpose, but I honestly think the cover is hideous and does nothing but collect dust/dirt/other sht so that is why I decided to rip mine off.
