Hood Struts-My very first post!!!

Hello Everyone...This is my first post, so help me out if I'm not in the right area. I just wanted to let everyone know (at least in So. Cal) that if you are looking for struts for a diy Hood Strut install, you can find struts at Western Marine as well as the pivot stud brackets. I would imagine that if you are not in socal that you could find these at any boat accessory store. I had recently ordered the struts from ebay and was supprised to find that they didn't come with the pivot brackets. After some searching around I found them. I will try to get some pics and a diy up later this week. I didn't see the price on the struts, but know that they were comparable to what I paid on ebay or cheaper. I paid around $35 for a pair. Are you installing some OEM hood lifts? I just got some used oem ones and I was tooking for that brackets. Let us know how it goes, I think there are a few of us who are going to do the hood struts including myself. Good luck with it.

awesome. i was able to find the struts, but like Neight, i'm having a hard time finding brackets.

hmm this sounds like a good idea.... i been thinking abt some diy hood struts or w.e you call them lol . saw it on a 240sx forum lol.

Yes yes, let us know how it goes, I was actually lookin at my boys 01 accord the other day. Specifically how the hood struts were on his car, when I saw those brackets. Why would they only put it on the v6 models, I wonder. Anyways, Im lining up some diy's for this weekend. So GL and drop us the results.
