I'm going to change my speakers soon.
I've done some searching and I can't find how to install those tweeters

I've seen other forums where people have either:
flush mounted in door panel
mirror garnish
pillar

But cutting holes in my car doesn't appeal to me very much and seems like a complicated job for me, can someone post a diy on how to change them with the factory tweeters?

Mine were installed in the doors, there are a couple of pics in the "Junk in Your Trunk" thread.

Mounting them in the dash is probably harder to do than in the doors. It's hard to get at them, and removing the dash piece to do it can be more headache than it's worth.

+1. Mine are installed on both front door panels.

does it sound different/notice a difference since the tweeter sounds are coming from the sides as opposed to the front dash where it was before?

Do coupes have the sail panels? If so then just grab a hole saw and that's about it.

I had tweets in the dash locations for about a year, was not bad at all. The sails are better to me.

But to answer the original question, you have 2 options. 1) attach the tweeter behind the grill (using hot glue or a small strap) 2) cut a hole in the grill for the tweeter.

^That depends on who you ask, I would say it sounds better in the door, but you don't get the same acoustics because the sound is not bouncing off of the windshield.

It also depends on the speaker quality as well.

The 'sail panel' is a good spot as well, and it's recommended that you get tweeters you can angle when they are mounted if you aren't putting them somewhere that the sound can bounce off of.

Reflections are a whole topic on their own. There are some great topics about this on diyma, dash tweeters and windshield should be some good terms to search there.

Then the matter of "stage" depth vs width. Also a matter of opinion, but all I offer is my opinion anyway.

aw i was hoping i wouldn't have to damage the car, i thought there would be a way to just fit it in there and replace the old tweeters.

how come you like the sails better btw?

I might do the sail panels if i find putting them where the original ones were don't work for me
i just don't want random stuff everywhere grille here, hole there and garbage in car that's not in use

I replaced all the speakers in my car with Eclipse - the front mounted tweeters on dash too... they sound great IMO. My side door speakers alos have tweeteres (2-way) and add that extra high too. All depends on what you're looking for I guess.
