I have a four banger and it's around 4.5 quarts each change.

As for the brand of oil, one thing i've been told by so many mechanics is to just stick with one for the whole time you own a car. With a honda, or really pretty much any newer car, as long as you use quality oil and follow your maintance schedule, you will be fine.

i'm pretty sure oil will not increase HP. btw, amsoil and pennzoil plat for synthetic oils! 4.5 is perfect for my v6, right in the middle.

4.6 as already stated in the V6. When I change oil in my 95 V6 (different engine, but uses the same amount of oil) I buy the 5 quart jug at WalMart (they are cheaper that the auto parts stores). I put in around 4 quarts, then check the stick, and add till it is to the correct level (not over the 2nd hole on the stick).
I use Valvoline Maxlife 10w30 in both of my Accords (2000 4cyl 5spd LX and 95 V6 Auto). It only costs about $12 for a 5 qt jug at WalMart. I use Purolator filters.

Well to an extent it does actually. As you know oil lubricates the parts to reduce friction and also helps spread the heat around. There is ofcourse a difference between the brands at how effective the oil is at doing this, a better product will reduce friction more and free up some more horsepower compared to a product that doesn't lubricate as good. Is the difference going to be noticable? No, probably something like 1hp.

I just picked up the Valvoline Synthetic that is on sale at Advance Auto Parts. I got 24 quarts thinking we use 4 quarts per oil change :D

Looks like I'll need to get another 6 quarts to make a total of 30 giving me 6 full oil changes :coffee:

I use a full 5 (put about half a quart in the filter before placing it on) then just fill up the rest.

I do have a turbo though
