How do you place the filter back on the car without spilling the oil that is in it? I'm asking since the filter is horizontally placed onto the car

Are you trying to take off the of the filter and then put it back on?

Why do people use synthetic oils that say last 7k+ miles on the car? Wouldnt you have to change the oil filter anyway? Or is there less dirt using those oils?
My father always told me to use regular oil and change it often b/c it saves money and keeps the engine healthy.

Its gonna spill no matter what, just keep some towels around. I take it you've never changed your own oil before.

I change my own oil. I put the filter on without any oil in it, then fill the crankcase with oil.

I was asking Dracord how he puts his filter on with oil in it without spilling it

Being from Canada I use 4.4L jugs of oil, so I didn't know how much that would be in quarts. That's why I was asking so I could buy the Valvoline Syn quart bottles

Sorry for the late response. I basically let as much oil seep into the filter as possible, so theres no worries about oil leaking since it's mostly absorbed. Like I mentioned, a dry OEM filter can pretty much absorb a half a quart of oil.
