get the smallest dynomax race bullet
i got it installed and took out the stock mufflers to see what it sounded like and it droned at low rpms. no rasps. deep and loud

not sure how it would sound for i4 with the axle back though.

if you want a bit more sound remove your premuffler

yea thats the plan, doesn't the dynomax replace the premuffler?

no it replaces the stock resonator
i welded a straight pipe in place of the premuffler

cat -> resonator -> premuffler -> 2 muffler
not sure about i4

Yeah.. for i4.. it's cat --> resonator --> muffler

if you want it louder, i guess you can get the dynomax resonator johnson recommended.. cause the stock resonator is really restrictive.

Most power can be gained by doing a straight pipe where the resonator is on the I-4. I lost 10whp by going from straight pipe there to a chambered 3 inch magnaflow resonator. Leason learned, chambered rasonators in the bend are power killers they also quiet things down several time better than straight though designs. The straight though resonators are the way to go if you don't mind loud/wish it to be that way.

DC Sports Ceramic Coating Headers aren't too expensive. I found a pretty good deal but I decided not to get it because I would have to get some money for a cat and then that would just make my car too dam loud :p.

He still has the headers. I just talked to him a couple days ago. If you want a deeper noise near the front area, I guess headers would be the way to go. But if you want more noise near the rear, then just stick with the stock headers and replace that stock resonator.

ok so time to bust some myths. i just got my car back today from the shop. i had a piece of pipe welded in place of the resonator, sounds great. not really loud as some of you suggested it me, also for reference i have the f23, with 4-2-1 header. so basically if you keep the stock muffler its a good way to go as far as bang for you buck. not ricey, nice low pur when down shifting and quiet whill at lower rpms. i will post a video for all u non believers out there. and please dont tell me it doesnt sound like that, because i doubt youve heard a stock muffler no resonator. thanks

I have a stock muffler with 2.25" piping from the cat to the back and at low rpms it sounds nice, but anything over 3500 it sounds like bees in a can.
