nope im 100% stock right now. with all stock parts still on the motor.. no real upgrades besides an intake.

can i just use a jumper harness and convert to obd1 and just run a p28 with that stock tune on it? or is there more to it..

You have to convert to obd1, get a harness adapter, get a p28 and just run chrome or unless u wanna get hondata which is better! And then tune! Dont run the car untuned it will run lean!

^why would you lose vtec when swapping in a ecu from another vtec engine? the only thing you lose is knock sensor i believe.

If it sounds like a suby/harley, you've got a dead cylinder with no compression. Your headgasket is probably toast and you're bleeding compression/oil/coolant like mad. Any over heating issues? It almost sounds like you could have dropped a valve. If this is somehow the case, the piston will hit it, and likely bend the shaft a little, causing it to get stuck (almost closed) in the guide, but as things heat up, it could drop again and repeat the process leading you to believe it's intermittent.

Pull the valve cover off and look to see if you've got any keepers floating around, cracked retainers, or AWOL valve stems. If everything looks good, you'll have to pull the head, and the problem should be pretty obvious from there.
