Dunno if anyone has posted a video of their F23 running/driving without a header.

I had to replace the gasket and I had my camera... you know what happens next.

PS - don't mind me or my stepdad commentating in the second one, I told him not to talk, he broke the rules.

1. Idling/Revving With No Header (or O2 sensor)

2. Driving Under 1.5k With No Header

EDIT: Give it until like 1:30pm CST for the quality to improve/video to show up, I uploaded HD vid.

LOL sounds like my car when my exhaust broke off past the flexpipe after revving it!

Hey Brandon,
I noticed you have studs sticking out of the block after you took of the manifold.. is that normal? I mean theres 4 studs, and I see holes for 4 bolts.. I thought it was just 8 bolts. Am I mistaken? Is it 4 bolts and 4 nuts on the studs? Please confirm this.

From what I experienced, there are 7 studs with nuts on them.

I got 5 nuts off no probs, 2 took the stud out of the head with the nut attached. That may be why you thought they were bolts because the nuts wouldn't break free and you removed the studs.

As far as the mysterious 8th bolt (closest to the alt), my Chilton's shows only 7 nuts to remove, and there is a hole in the manifold for the last one, and somewhat of a plugged hole in the head, which made me think I sheared it when I removed the P/S pump, but I think there are only 7.

To keep the studs tight in the head, I'd soak the nuts and then tighten them 1/6 turn and then loosen them.

Sorry to go off topic on this, but I haven't taken my manifold off. I am just wondering what I should expect. I will be taking it off soon. I also have new stainless steel bolts to put in the holes, that's where my concern arises. If the studs are in there, can they be taken out and replaced with my new hardware? Or should I go buy nuts for the studs.. I'd rather use new things.
