Hey fellow 6 gens. Ok, I have some descent struts already, previous owner, but the springs are way to hi for what I want. I bought some tien s tech and would like to install them. I got a few quotes from mechanics and I am getting estimates of like $330-$480. This is without aligning. How hard would it be for me to do it myself?
I have saved alot doing stuff myself that I didn't think I could. Its not that I don't trust automechanics, its that I don't trust them with my car. hehehe. I really just want to do this myself no matter how long it takes.

You're in FL so you may not have this problem, but be ready with some weasel piss and/or a torch. Couple bolts on my 01 were completely seized and had to be torched off.

Pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying. But if you run into the problem I did, which was the horizontal bolt going through the foot of the OEM strut would just turn inside the foot and not come out, it's not uncommon and it's a b*tch. I'd recommend once you get one side (say the left rear) off, don't install the new stuff on that corner until you have removed the right rear successfully.

When I tried installing my struts/springs, I got the left rear off fine and put on the new stuff which was dumb. Then when I got to the right rear I had the above problem, had to restore both sides to stock and took it to a shop.
