Did you do anything with the needles as far as transparent tape/paint or are they left stock? I want to convert my cluster to led's but was hearing some people talk about the needles being really dim.

The needles, you can just use some rubbing alcohol to remove the paint.

I left mine stock.. The red light shines well through them unlike blue

Also depends on your cluster, if you have one of the newer coupes it comes with a grey background and red needles. A thing to note, all v6 clusters are different then the i4's.

quick question...how many bulbs did you need to order to get it right?

I ordered from ledautomotive.com all the bulbs come in one package together

The cluster looks normal during the day.. in the evening when its half dark/half light out and I have the headlights turned on it looks a little pink but when night falls its all pure red.. I like how it came out
