** Mods, I sent a PM to the moderator who wrote the GB rules post but have not heard back. I'm not conducting any transactions yet, just trying to get a headcount of who is interested. Please let me know what I need to do to conduct a group buy on this forum. Thanks! **

I've contacted Function Form (www.f2autolife.com) in Alhambra, CA about setting up a group buy for their Function Form Type-2 coilovers. I've worked out the following pricing with them:

Initial order of 3 sets:
Shipped to lower 48 states, outside of California -- $750
Shipped inside of California (tax included) -- $850
Picked up in Alhambra, CA (tax included) -- $825
Shipped to Canada -- $830

Initial order of 6 sets:
Shipped to lower 48 states, outside of California -- $730
Shipped inside of California (tax included) -- $800
Picked up in Alhambra, CA (tax included) -- $775
Shipped to Canada (buyer is responsible for duties and taxes on their end...F2 has no control over those charges...sorry =[) -- $800

Additional/Optional costs:
V6P group buy fees -- gb price + $50/# of TOTAL group buy members
Different spring/spring rate -- gb price + $150 (takes 2-3 weeks to revalve)

Retail price is $825+tax+shipping = ~$933

Member list:
Please let me know if you're 100% in and need to be added to the list. Thanks!

Specs:
18 way adjustable dampening
2.5" of height adjustment in the lower mount alone + more if you use the spring perches
1 yr. warranty as long as you turn in your warranty card
10/8 spring rate
monotube design
44mm piston
** PILLOWBALL MOUNT INCLUDED **

Please contact me if you are interested. The pricing is based on "initial order" size because F2 will allow people to purchase coilover sets through me after the initial order for the same gb price as long as you are seriously interested.

Thanks,
Jeff

F2 doesn't have this application listed on their website yet, but I have a friend who has them on his 6th gen V6 coupe. I've been talking to a rep @ F2 and our application is in fact in production. He said he has about 8 of them in stock and he'll be getting more.

The major differences I see between these and the Tein SS are:

1. The F2 type-2 coilovers have an adjustable lower mount. This allows you to alter the height of the car (lower it) without adjusting the height of the spring on the shock body or the preload on the shock. In the end, this gives you a better ride quality because your shock has full range of travel even though you're lowered. On the Tein SS you lower the car by lowering the spring placement on the shock body which causes the shock to be more compressed (or pre-loaded) before you even hit a bump. That means you have less shock travel the lower you go with the Tein SS. (PS - that's what I have right now).

2. The F2 coilovers have a much higher spring rate than the Tein SS. A lot of people complain that the Tein SS are too soft for performance minded people, so the F2s would be the better choice if you're looking for a stiffer suspension for better handling.

Let me know if you guys are interested or have any more questions!

Yes, these are FULL coilovers. They come with the shock, springs, and even the pillowball mounts. All you have to do when you get them is take out your old ones and put these new ones in. You don't have to swap top hats or springs or anything! The tentative deadline for the initial order is Thursday August 2, 2007! Let me know if you want to be part of that initial order. Members purchasing in the initial order are gauranteed the GB prices listed above. I've been told by F2 that orders after that will be at the same price, but if I only get one person ordering later, they may have to pay more since the overall number of members is lower.

Re: Is anyone interested in Function Form coilovers @ a discount??

im thinking about it.....
but tax for cali is ridiculously high imo.
730 for shipped to outside of cali, well 8.25% of that will be 60 bucks, not 100. on top of that, shipping will cost less compare to shipping cost that goes out of cali.
well yeah its only 40bucks + shipping cost difference but still..... i think they could lower the price for cali customers.

if price lowers a little, then maybe ill pick it up and ill be in GB for sure. money ready too...i was going to order omni, but 100-150 more for dampenning adjustable, i think it is far worth it. but before all that, dont consider me as a GB yet.
