Is this an okay setup?

I never had connectivity issues with the D1 or D3....the only downside to this unit i see is the sound. It's hard to get really good sound out of it and it takes alot of tweaking of the equalizer to get it to sound really good.

I don't know about the D series but the Avic-F900BT has issues right now. Hold off on it. It sounds great, the navi is good, supposedly not as good as the kenwood but it just has other issues. Don't condisider the F series units right now. I have one, it's not bad but has issues. Fireware updates should fix issues, assuming everything is dealt with. I can say this will be a great unit in time, right now, not so much. Again, F series only.

And Chido, you don't have any issues with the video from your iPod?? Kenwood is set up so you don't have to ever bother with the iPod itself and even for the videos, it is controlled directly through the HU. Seems like this is not so for the D3's at least... especially for the iPod Classics...

Yeah those polks are pretty bad...i would've went with a component set..

You think those Polks are bad?? I don't need much midrange or certainly not any lowrange out of them, but for a 2-way, they are supposed to offer pretty good Highs....

Component speakers were definitely NOT an option, I wasn't willing to cut or mod anything to mount the tweeters.

And these Polks are slim and fit without any modification, which is a plus for me.

Not like I'm competing or anything with this system... I think if the Polks can deliver some decent highs like they are supposed to, the overall setup will work pretty well for me.

I have my iphone setup through an composite av connection cause the new ipods (iphone, ipod classic, and touch) feed the video through the 16pin and there's a proprietary chip in the connector that will allow video to be played through it. as of now pioneer hasn't released anything that will interface it for video. I think it's about to be released from what i heard from a Tweeter associate.

Okay yeah, that's what I thought. Pioneer takes its sweet *** time for software/firmware updates it seems tho.
