If you were already a v6, sure, 4cyl, not so sure.

Pick up an older legend and throw the J35 in it like a guy near me did.

The J series motors all mount the same way I believe. So you could get it in there. Wiring it up may be a different story....I haven't looked into wiring up a J35. If you mate it with your stock tranny...there might be a problem after a few months.

The J35 is dooable, but I don't know about sourcing it from an RL (unless its the same as the Odyssy V6). From an Odyssy, it should be a similar type of swap as a j32 would be.

The following info. came from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_J_engine#J35

The J35 displaced 3.5 L (3471 cc) and is an SOHC VTEC design. Bore is 89 mm and stroke is 93 mm. Output was 210 hp for the J35A1 and 265 hp (198 kW) and 253 ft·lbf (343 N·m) for the J35A3.

The new J35 used in the Acura RL produces 290 hp (224 kW) at 6200 rpm and 256 ft·lbf (347 N·m) at 5000 rpm. This engine was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2005.

The J35A91 used in the Honda Ridgeline produces 247 hp (184 kW) at 5750 rpm and 245 ft·lbf (332 N·m) at 4500 rpm.

The J35 is also used by General Motors in the Saturn VUE, though GM refers to it as the L66.

New RL is awd.......
This may or may not matter, probably not. Most awd drive cars are essentially a FWD car with a transfer case. I would image the RL shares some DNA with the tl. It's transversely mounted so it should work fine, assuming it bolts up to a transmision that is worth.
