Dear Matthew Badger,

Thank you for your interest in our company.

If you have never purchased a car from Japan, before you finish with your order we strongly recommend that you check with your local authorities (DOT office, customs office and etc) that you can import and register this car in the USA.

We regret to inform you that it is not possible for us to export vehicles and also parts to the US. This is due to US Department of Transportation and US Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

There may however be an exception for vehicles 25 years or older.

We are not responsible for your not being able to import the car once you purchase is from us so please make sure you can import it before placing this order.

Please let us know if you have any qestions.

Best regards,

Dean Cadre,

Dear Japan Partner,

Thank you for repling to my email so quickly.

I am having a hard time understanding why you cannot export JDM cars to america that are less then 25 years old. I live in a town where we have quite a few JDM cars from Honda, Toyota and Nissan on our streets that are less than 25 years old.

Or am I to understand that you wont export any car to America that is not 25 years old. If that is the case, I thank you for your time and I will not pursue a car from your company and will start looking elsewhere.

If that is not the case, Please let me know what I must do to start looking for my Subaru i wish to import.

Thank You

We will happily export any vehicle to America on an FOB basis. It is highly likely customs will seize and destroy the vehicle though.

Best regards,

Dean Cadre

One last question then, What about shipping it as parts? Dismantle the whole car and ship it as used auto parts and my shop could put it together.

Matthew Badger

Unfortunately this is also not an option.

Best regards,

FOB basis

ok ok... i'll be serious just for u badger :redface2:

if u want just a front clip, or the car in pieces, it should be no prob to bring it into the US... if it's an entire car, u need to clear that with customs BEFORE the car even gets onto the ship.... u'll need to have the car inspected to make sure it adheres to USDM safety and emissions standards.

I know in Ohio, maybe also in FL, if its 25 years old that means its considered a "historic" vehicle and requires no emissions testing.

Easiest way - import it in parts, put it together, register it as a show car. Try not to get caught driving it.

I know a friend of mine got a skyline shipped to the U.S. had to go through customs. He said that he had to change the windshield, and the exhaust (cat) and that he shipped the shell of the car. And crated the engine. Hope that was helpful. (by the way he was coming from japan)

Roy: i actually would prefer to have it shipped in parts so it would be easier. but all the companies i found except for japan auto partners want the car shipped whole.

Greg: the car in question is less then 25 yrs old and wont reach that age for a while. like i said, cant find a company to ship it as parts

hidden: like i said, **** that ****.......

roadrage: apparently the car in question is harder to import than a skyline.

chido: HAHAHA......i cant be a canadian, i like my year round beach weather

as far as my research goes, the car is completly legal to import.
