K-ECU in F accord

I've searched to no avail, so I'm asking the question. I know ECU's are designed with specific engines in mind, but the K series ECU's have reprogrammable maps, so lets say for instance i wanted to use a K ECU in my F accord. Could I in theory, use KPro to upload a F23 basemap onto the ecu and still be able to pass emissions with it? It probably wouldnt be a plug and play scenario and have to adjust pinouts etc, but looking into alternatives other than the $1000 standalones, and still have to swap the stock ecu for emissions and worry about the thing throwing codes. Its a crazy idea, but seems it could possibly work.

My reason for asking is I'm looking into an e85 build, as it's about $0.85 cheaper than 87, and i'd like to possibly keep the ECU for my next car/project...

Isn't it $1000 for K pro and another couple hundred for just the K ecu?

Just tune it with a P28 and pay under the table for emission?

I don't know if NY does smog checks, but people find a smog certified shop and pay an extra 150-300 to pass.

it wouldnt even be worth it unless you're about to own a k swap in the near future.

go with a p28 with Hondata S300. pretty much all the functions.

in ny if your car wont plug in and read clear, you fail. Any check engine light, you fail. so obd1 is out.

it'd be the suckiest annual expense, but yeah... wouldnt do me any good since its all computer logged.. if it cant plug in, it fails. cant renew registration when its not inspected either, which leaves every 2 years requiring it to pass the plug in obd tool.

my question was mainly theory/planning, since im working on a D16 build for a civic. so it looks like i'm going to have to use an older body style so i can run what i need, because i doubt a stock honda ecu (d16 or f23) would be able to run a high compression E85 motor without codes...

In theory, is it possible? I think that's the big thing he is trying to get at. Cause if you payed a little less than 1500 for kpro and the ecu and everything, itd be cheaper than paying 150-300 every year. It'd only take like 6 years if you're paying 300.
