Keyless Entry

I bought a keyless entry fob from eBay and programmed it to the car. It won't unlock or lock the doors but if the doors are closed and I press unlock on the remote the tail/headlights flash and if I hit lock twice the horn will honk as if it is locked but the locks never actually move. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to verify, your locks operate by the switch in the car?

They do. And if I stand by the passenger door and unlock it i can hear the door click but no unlock.

I think, you may have a door switch problem, the problem is, there are always two per door...

Let me think about that.

What's odd though...
your saying with the switch it works...
but with the remote, it clicks, but no unlock?

Exactly. It's strange. The lights flash and horn honks when it's suppose to lock. It just doesn't actially lock or unlock.

yeah, I gotta have someone check (my remote is disassembled ) but I *think* your prob is a door switch,

random person:

open a door, hit 'lock' (remote), get flashing? doors locked (open one)

ok,lock -A- door, close it, open another, hit 'unlock', get flashing? did the locked door, unlock?

gotta try to remember pullin codes

Just tested again:

If both doors are closed and locked, the passenger door will lock and unlock with the remote.

The driver door doesn't react at all.

The panic button works, trunk Pop doesn't.

Let's see if we can make the trunk work. Hit unlock and hold the trunk button right after that. Also, multiplexer reset?

Reset the multiplexer system by turning ignition off, set intermittent wiper ring to half way, turn ignition on for 10 seconds and then off.

Can't hurt to try this. Helps when there are issues with window switches.

I tried the reset no luck.

If both door unlocked with key the trunk works
If both locked none work with remote
If passenger unlocked it will lock with the remote but not unlock

no need to unlock to pop the trunk.

when you hit 'unlock' on the remote, no sound from door? but there is with the button?

same with trunk, helps to drop back seat and slide your head under with a flashlight.
