The trunk doesn't pop when doors are locked. I can only hear a sound from the passenger door when pressing the remote button.

The manual switches work on both doors and the passenger door will lock if you press the lock down on the driver door.

You theoretically shouldn't need to hit the unlock button to pop trunk but it seems to be an issue on the 98-00 I believe that after reprogramming remotes, you need to hit unlock and then trunk release right after. It happened to me on 3 cars to date. I would like to figure this out at some point out but anyway, back to topic.

This is what I came to find on it a couple years ago. Mine is a '99 though. This TSB is for the '98 but check it out. Its weird.

Lol, I *think* one of mine does that, 2x presses req'd, it seems like a 'safety' feature, prevent the trunk popping from a pocket thing...

I just looked at it. Mine does work if I hit the trunk twice. That being said, I have only two remotes programmed.

I think, where I would start on this one is maybe leave the battery unplugged for a while, come back and reprogram the remote. Definitely can't hurt.

It's all good! I'm thinking it may be the actuator on the driver side door. The manual switch on that door doesn't actually lock or unlock that door. Just passenger. I have to manually press the stem down. Any backup on that theory? But I will leave the battery off tomorrow during work and see if that'll solve anything.

Yes! These actuators are very prone to failure. Did you get the trunk to work per our suggestions?

As far as I know the trunk is working as it is suppose to. Just takes 2 clicks to get it to pop. Just the driver side door is what's not working. & yeah 2 door
