what model audiobahn?

also, Ive got a RE audio REX12 in the wifes 6th gen. its in a 1.5 @ 35hz box firing into the cabin. I didnt angle the front so I could mount the amp there so that everything valuable is not in the trunk subject to anything flying around. she still has probably 18"+ between the box and the back of the trunk.

its a cheap sub, not too deep (so could go smaller on the box at the expense of some lows), or even a smaller sealed box. we only got about ~200 watts going to the thing (RF amp, real power) and it is pretty impressive.

I had a trio of PPI pcx102's in a 4.5ft @ 35 in my accord on 1200 watts and it was nuts for how cheap it all was as well. but those ppi's are deeper than the re, but still would in have fit in the box in her 6th gen.

one of the most impressive cheaper subs Ive had was the old alpine type r's with the ribbed surround. got them for 114 new back then. of course its more than that sony but they got loud and sounded good doing it.

that amp does not put out 1500w. i had it hooked up to a single 12 orion hp. then i got my hands on a audiobahn 800w amp and it hit way harder

Id say if youre looking for something a little better on the low end then a factory system has, get a Sundown sa-8 or e8

hey man, I had a single ported high excursion (AW1200X) and it was damn impressive. a buddy went out and spent like 250 + on just his sub (punch HX2 of the same model year as my X) and we both built big *** ported boxes and put them off similar power and while neither would win a SQ comp, neither sounded horrible and the ear wouldnt tell you if one was louder than the other.

I had an ALUM12X as well and it sounded pretty good.

my last setup had their comps and they were pretty nice as well (paid like 30 bucks new)

they may not be the best but they definitely arent the worst and I always felt they were well worth the money. of course I wouldnt think so if I paid best buy prices for them. I got my high excursions 12's for 73 bucks brand new off ebay and best buy wanted over twice that for a 10" sub that was one step down in the lineup...

My suggestion is to stay away from all the mainstream brands and get something decent and used if you are on a budget. Brands like Sony, Kenwood, Kicker, MBQuart, JL, Audiobahn, etc., usually have high prices because they spend the most on advertising. You can find decent, non abused, subs on CL all the time. Then get a decent amp. This way you spend more money on the amp and it has a warranty, where as the used sub that you spent under $200 is easily replaceable.
