I will vouch for the sound quality of magnaflow exhaust systems.
They really don't sound like rice so I don't know where people get that idea.
I don't really need to say much more, I mean they really do sound sick when properly installed!

2 2.5" Universal Magnaflows on a j30 (im 6spd tho, holds tone a little better then the auto)
Note: Resonator and pre muffler also cut out
IMO magnaflow and borla will give you the best DEEP tone. if you cut out the resonator and premuffler and start to get a raspy fartcan, put a resonator back in. mine used to sound awesome without the reso n pre muff
