Hey everyone. I posted in this forum because I need the exposure. Please move the thread if required

I'm basically looking for a lawyer to represent me for my speeding ticket from September. It happened in Berrien county in Chikoming township. I was clocked doing 86mph in a 70mph zone on the I-94W interstate via laser.

I've had the informal and formal hearing. The trooper showed up to both and I've been found responsible both times. Since this is my first ticket I'd like to have it dismissed so my insurance is not affected. I'm obviously not cut out to defend myself in court so this is why I need a traffic lawyer

In Canada we usually pay $200 for x-copper or pointts to attend the hearings on our behalf. Anything like that here in the USA?

Many thanks!

Why not just pay the ticket and not worry about it the extra insurance money isn't going to be much at all. That's just a one point ticket.

Going 16 miles over on an interstate is only 1 point? Since my insurance is from Canada I don't think the points transfer - but I'm not 100% sure about that

Basically, I just wanted to keep a clean record. And I've heard from insurance companies that a ticket is a ticket. It shows up on your record and can adversely affect rates

Would that work if I live in Chicago and going to move back to Canada? How does traffic school dismiss my ticket?

When you go to traffic school, you get points taken off your license for attending a 5 hour class, something like that. I've done it before, in NY you get 4 points removed for attending a class. You have to pay for the class, and it has be a school affiliated with your state DMV(in your case Chicago DMV?) All i had to do was watch a few videos, and we were let go and given credit for the class, don't know how it is in other places.

I checked dmv.org

"Michigan courts normally do not offer traffic school as a way to reduce points on your driving record"

BOO-URNS!

Yeah those Michigan State Troopers dont eff around ..

Got pulled over for the tint on my windows ..

Lady was nice and let me off during the summer

If you were local to the Detroit area I have someone that would represent you but youre on the Westside and I bet it will cost alot for the lawyer to come to you.

Good luck to whatever happens man.

Springtime you have to stop by Detroit so we can do a photoshoot together

I met a guy a while back with a black coupe and oem kit too =]
