well, just because it says made in china does not necessarily mean anything like knock off. the world uses chinese cheap labor, factory, etc etc.
i know many samsung (korean) electronic parts are made in mexico/south america.
many sony stuffs are made in else where too. i can tell you right now, my hp work laptop was made/assembled in china.
it makes more sense from company's perspective to have their manufacturing factory in country with cheap labor fee than here in US, or in Korea, or in Italy perhaps.
i may not be able to tell if your wheel is authentic or not, but just saying that you shouldn't be worried about its authenticity solely based on its manufacturing country. if other factors (place where you bought them, packaging, certification, manual, etc etc) were questionable, then yeah you might want to make sure you didn't pay grip of money for knock off.
some items though, for example tein coilovers, are made in (say) japan exclusively.
if this is the case, then yeah you can tell its authenticity from where it was made.
