Looking for a setup similar to what Toyota has with their quiet 'chirp' when locking and unlocking the doors. I know wiring will have to be redone to accomplish this. Anyone seen it done before?

I know that sound you're looking for, my dads 4Runner obviously has it. It sounds quite "sophisticated" I guess. Im pretty sure new Audi's have it too, it sounds similar to the Toyota chirp.

Saab has a soft whistle on their cars, probably the least imposing alert sound I've heard.

Does anyone know if the 'noise making device' on these cars could be purchased and wired up, or if it's part of a more complicated unit?

Are we talking on OEM alarm?

Why do you want it to make noise? Hit the lock button once and it flashes at you to acknowledge it's armed.

Any kind of honking, chirping or otherwise "sound" just draws attention, IMO.

I have an OCD about somethings, and ensuring my house/car is locked is one of them. Sometimes I get half way in a store, or even all the way inside and start second guessing whether I really locked the car, so I will walk all the way out to double check. An audible confirmation can be heard from farther away, when I can't always see my car behind other cars. I'd rather have a little bit of attention saying 'this car is locked and armed' rather than 'BEEEEEEP! BULLDOG ALARM HERE, WATCHOUT!!'

be like it is
2G TL beeps on double lock press...

it probably has a separate speaker for the beep, and most definitely uses a different remote. at the very least, there will be a module swap and some extra wiring. its probably not a straight swap, but it may not be too far off (honda is cheap and lazy, after all :lawl:).
