^ I agree, its like the one flaw I could find.

The gaskets have a hard time under high heat conditions I noticed.

The guys at my local Honda dealership said they were surprised the header didn't come with better ones.

I wonder if the cracked headers were wrapped, I've heard that's a bad idea as far as longevity goes. Ceramic coating is considered a good alternative.

What a pure 6th gen accord thread.

I come in here looking to find out if these headers will translate into any performance gains at all.

And all I find is 3 pages of posts about longevity and reliability

Let's get a few things straight...

Ceramic coated headers are generally made from mild steel. They're gonna rust, no matter what. They're gonna rust even faster if you wrap them. If you get one cuz it's cheaper, send it out and get it jet-hot coated.

Stainless headers shouldn't even crack unless they weren't properly welded. Wrapping them contains the heat from the exhaust, which is a good thing. Again..if you're that worried about it, get it jet-hot coated.

stick to what people recommend, for our cars really it should just be between megan or DC....in the end, like with everything else, "you get what you pay for". do things right the first time.

Who says the Megan headers are crap?

They just didn't come with good gaskets.

edit: I've had mine for close to 3 years now...nothing's wrong, and I inspect things every once in a while to make sure.

x2 ... megan header performs better than dc IMO ... but god do they make some crappy gaskets ... they lasted me a month till i blew them out ... i've made my own gaskets ... i've used both gasket material and even some with just hi-temp gasket sealant and i still have a leak today
