Well, just came back from meeting up with Jakub and the cars.

Unfortunately, no time for a photoshoot or good run, but the swap looks good.

Car sounds great, and the donor car will hopefully attract some attention(buyers) when it comes time to part it out.

Great meeting you, and I am sure we'll get a chance to meet up again as the weather gets better.

Great meeting you Derek as well  thanks for the kind words about the car. Good to see your car in flesh as well, that audio setup in the back is :jawdrop:

Here are some pics I snapped up before Derek showed up

Afterwards, we managed to get the RSX shift knob to fit too :)

Overall, the car feels great, and the six speed makes the exhaust sound so much sweeter, especially when downshifting. I'll post a video of the startup without any CELs later.

Someone's engine bay needs cleaned lol. I need to get that front engine cover trim piece until I can detail my motor.

Congrats! The thing I enjoyed most after my swap was mastering the art of downshifting. :)

What CEL's do you have? You should probably put an intake on. :lawl:

Thanks Chris. Your detailed swap thread helped out a lot, and so a big thanks to your documenting efforts. I'll try to summarize mine once the car's back under my roof.

She needs a good wash, period, no doubt about it. I'm feeling a little neglectful, but hey she just came out of surgery ;)

So far, no CELs, fingers crossed it'll stay that way. As for the intake, the CL owner had a first gen AEM CAI, the shop didn't now if I'm going to be reusing, or getting the v2. After some thought and financial reassessment, I'll reuse the old one and pair it with a brand new K&N filter.

I've actually been driving stick since 1994 up until 2011, so this was an overdue return.

UPDATE 11
So just when I thought we were good ... the car's been making a weird vibration under hard acceleration ... We couldn't figure it out, when we take the spacers out, however, the vibration's gone. The mechanic thinks that because we dropped the subframe so much, and lowered the car too, there's too much strain on the driveshaft...

So ... we had to make it work ... Decided to go with a J37 intake manifold, it's lighter, shorter, and made of magnesium so it stays cooler. According to some, it may yield another couple of hp and tq.

I feel stupid for not going down this path in the first place as it regains 5/8" ground clearance, allowing us to lower more, and gain a bit more power. Anyways, those spacers will have to go on sale soon, so for all those who wanna do the swap by lowering the subframe, you know who to contact.

Should be ready for this Friday ...

You are running smaller subframe spacers now, or none at all?

Did you go the full inch as you originally said you were doing?
