That's really unfortunate J. But glad to hear that you're ok. Reminds me of my first (and only) accident (on the first day driving to school nonetheless). I sat at a stop light waiting to turn left, and this idiot in a Grand Am swerves around a garbage truck double parked and hits me from behind. The amount of damage our cars got was surprising.

I ended up getting the bumper replaced and a fresh coat of paint for the entire car. Best of luck with the recovery (for you and your car)!

You don't ever claim your insurance. Only if it's your fault or the dude did not have insurance. Now it's on your driving record.


Hey Jmiller, if you tell them that your back hurts you can get a settlement for your car and like 1 year later get some money for your injury if you go to a doctor and stuff. I was rear ended in my car in 2005. It was so bad that I had to weld a quarter panel clip and new rear window glass. The insurance totaled my car but I bought it back and used the money to fix it and put some money in my pocket. I would not complain because it's really a blessing in disguise.
