need help on how to remove rims with the bolts shredded

Okay so this happened to one of my buddies.. Like 2 days ago, and we hammered it til it snapped lol.

This provokes a question for me. Not long ago My moms van had a seized lug on one of the studs. The really bad part about the situation was the stud was no long securely fastened in the hole it stays wedged in. We ended up taking it to a shop to get it fixed by how could they possible have fixed it with that special socket? It just kept spinning around and had like 1/4 inch free play in it, in and out? What tool could be used for that?

so after using that lugnut remover, ive come to the conclusion that its not working, i tried using a ratchet and an air gun, the lugnut isnt budging, maybe its on too tight? i dont know what to do.

did you hammer the extractor on to the nut first? thats a pretty integral step in the process

i did hammer the lugnut on, but it didnt fit on all the way
