Well Sunday afternoon I finally decided to jack the car up and start to rip it apart. After tearing the right side apart and getting the axle half way out it decided to snap in and would not move. With the car on jack stands I started it up and put it in first gear. Its fixed. Axles movin, no thumpin and all looks good. I assemble everything set the car down and low and behold it sounds like a$$ and won't move. So once again I jack the car up and this time remove the entire axle. After about 3 hours of messing with it and all here is what I found.

No need to tell you which is the old and which is the new.

I managed to eat up the splines on the out put shaft

So out with the old and in with the new

I can only assume that all the racing took a toll on this axle. 2nd gear rolls probably aren't the best for it. So, now its time to look into Stage 2 axles.

Don't waste your money. Autozone axles are just as good as OEM, and come with a lifetime warranty. Snap on, just go get a new one. Custom axles that cost $600+ are a waste unless they're going in a drag car. There are H22 Accords with 500+whp and use autozone axles with no prob.

I got this one from Napa for $56 plus the $61 core charge. Stage 2 axles would be perfect for my car if I am going to run drag radials. Launching at 6000rpm on stock axles will snap oems in a second.

Yup. I use to go to the track all the time. The only time I broke an axle on the track is when they had just prepped the track for the BigDog Event and I launched hard and never tripped the lights. Snap the axle clean in half and on street tires.

It took me a while to get the preloading figure just right but still would want stronger axles today. I know what you mean about people with 500+ being good on stocks. My buddy has a 800+ whp turbo civic on stage II axles and its holding up just fine right now.
