Nobody posted AP2V2's on a 6GA?!?!?! WTF!? LOL

I like the fact that the 8thGens are 18x8! You can get a nice look and wide tire on there. Also, not to critisize your PhotoShop skills, will look the most proportionate to your photos edited. Some of the others look like if they were 18-19" and will not have the same effect. Nice work either way!

Here you go anyways:

I totally get what you are saying, I know thats not EXACTLY how they will look. But I was just editing them to get an idea of how they would look.

And those are really nice. I love your car, so well done.

Wrong thread, I know. But how is your FFR project going, Ken? My Father and I need to finish the wiring harnesses, get the engine broken in, and get it painted.

He has been working crazy hours lately, so we haven't been able to work on it in a while.

This is the incredibly sad state of "the kit" right this minute. We have no time to work on it, so it just keeps getting misc. items piled on it :ugh:

Looks good John

Cheap tires can be like roullette sometimes. But I have seen quite a few positive reviews about the dry performance of the Achilles. Seems tread wear is good for a cheap tire as well. Don't plan on keeping them on the car when temps dip down to freezing. Between the tire compound and that tread design, it won't be fun sliding off the road in cold/icy/snowy conditions. :skurred:

Also, I think you can get a set of locking lugs from discount tire direct for like $40. Just cal them and tire rack and see who will give you a set of lugs for cheaper. Should be under $50.

$48 is a decent amount for center caps too. But having them brand new is nice. Are your sure the silvers will match up closely?

I noticed my neighbour down the street had a set of Yokohama Parada Spec 2's on their Kia...not sure why.

The reviews seem to be pretty good on the tire. The one concern was the wet traction, was considered medicore, so not sure if that is a tire to consider as well.

Price wise, cheapest I found was ~$157/tire for 225/40/18.

Re: *Pic Heavy* New wheel set-up ideas

lol, John's looking at $70/tire........

I saw Hankook V12 Evo's for $111/each +shipping (after $80 rebate) That's a real good summer tire... I've had them on the SSR's since I got them. Tread life won't be crazy high but for the grip its been impressive so far.

But yeah other than that, probably should stick with the Achilles and let us know how they do. I'd be interested in what you find.

Well then, perhaps those Achille's are a better choice.

Will have to look in to those Hankooks, Kevin, were those 225/40/18's as well?

Yeah Kevin, a guy on the FB group recommended the Achilles. 400 AA A seems really damn good to me too.

And yes these would only be a 3 season wheel set. Stockies in the winter like most people.

Thanks for the other recommendations guys but I'm a cheap skate by heart so I'll end up getting the Achilles no matter what. Haha, I spent $230 shipped for the tires I am riding on now.

Definately will need a review of those Achilles, especially when it comes to the stretch factor of the tires.

The guy who recommended these to me is actually stretching more than I ever would.

But I will talk to him more about them when I get a chance.

Thanks for the heads up.
