Fast forward to now, I neglected working on the car since picking it up. I actually purchased the replacement windows ($200) shortly after picking this car up; I just never had the time to (more like procrastinated) get someone to replace the windows for me.
Story goes that; my G35 recently took a dump about two months ago. It's getting a P0300 and P0037 code for misfire and faulty O2 sensor. It had a P0304 and I replaced the coil and injector over the #4 cylinder. But I'm still getting the codes and the car runs horribly. You can read more about it here on MY350Z. I dont have my truck anymore because I sold it last August, good timing too since gas prices have been soaring. I havnt been riding my ZX6R but it's also in the process of being reinstated. I have to made these mounts for the turn signals just so I can pass the safety inspection. In the last two months, I've been catching the bus. It's not too bad, it gets cramped and sometimes worsens when someone stinky gets on the bus, but I've been saving a grip of money since. But I have kids and wife that need to get around, and my Dad's van isnt always available for me to borrow.
So up until last week, I had my wife find someone to install the glass for me and scheduled an appt for yesterday (4/12) and was quoted $200 and also reinstated the insurance. I knew the battery was dead so I bought a new battery to be replaced. I called my Dad (since he was off of work) and asked him if he could come get my family and bring them to the in-laws place where I had the car stored. I asked him to replace the battery for me; he started the car and found out the IAC was crapped out. He called his workplace (Since he's a tech at Honda) and priced a new IAC for $215 (he picked it up today). Also found out the vehicle tax is due this month; $235 - gonna pay for this at the end of the month. I really wasnt counting on the IAC to go bad but, watever; gotta get it done. And little did I know the car was nearly empty, probably for good reason, so $75 went into filling it up with fresh 89 gas on our way back home. I can't imagine how much it will cost to fill up my G35 when it gets fixed, anyhow; My Dad's going to take the Accord with him to his shop tomorrow to replace the IAC and recharge the Air Conditioning.
Gotta spruce of the body some too so I'm ordering new buffing pads and some buffing compounds locally and go to to work on brightening up the car. The paint is so oxidized! I still need to thoroughly vaccuum the car's interior - still got some tiny glass slivers. The in-laws vac was pretty crappy. Still planning on doing some mild mods on the car. A short shifter is a must! transitioning from the G35 shifter throws to the accords throws is rediculous - it feels so sloppy. Next would be tightening up the suspension and then some wheels.
One year up to now, it's finally on the road.
