Search around a little bit. There's a few threads with 5 spd swap info, as well as a lot of 5 spd swap parts for sale. Including a tranny and ecu.

Like Chris said, girlfriend shouldn't be a major deciding factor.

The reason for the whole gf thing, she is paying for it. my suga momma lol. thanks again though. I got one last question... since my car is at 188,*** miles should i think about swapping to a full 5spd f23 or 5sp H series? and how much it costs

lol. Are you able to do the work to install a full drivetrain swap? If no then you don't want to know the installed price.

My 99' LX had the trans rebuilt at 160K. If it lasts another 160K that would be great. And it is working fine right now at 202K. Just take it out and make a deal with a shop to repair it. Doing the removal and install saves on labor costs, but you need to know the shop is not full of shifty characters who will just add that back into the price somewhere else or skimp on parts.

Around 1500 to do it yourself. Much more for a shop.

Using an H22 5 speed would just complicate something you already don't know much about. So I would just stick with an F23 5 speed to keep it as simple as possible.

the reason i bring up the h22/h23 is, i saw a guy have a set up with a stock f23 and h23 tranny
