OBD 2 computers?

I have been looking at doing a couple different things with my honda. I have considered hybrids, h22 swap and boost. However everthing I find needs an obd 1 conversion. Are the obd 2s that hard or expensive to convert. I couldnt even find a h22 obd 2 swap info. If there is no other real way to tune with an obd 2, How do you pass the scan tool test with the conversion?

umm.. well its really easy to convert to obd1. just use the obd2b to obd1 jumper harness and swap over to a P28 ecu. if you really plan to build your car and have it tuned then converting to obd1 is must.. but if you just want a stock h22 swap and you dont plan on doing much with it then just get a H22a4.. its obd2b as well, just like our cars.

Well to start off my motor is on its way out so was going to either a) rebuild it with rsx pistons re do the bearings maybe do a few other minor things and put the h22 head on it or B) do the f22 head and boost it eventually. Like I said though the problem is it would have to go back to obd 2 for inspection, which I know eliminated the g23 and pretty sure the f22 head mod too.

As of yet there is no way to reflash the OBD2 Accord ECU. Reflashing an ECU requires a fair amount of reverse engineering. No one has put forth the effort to do that for the Honda ECUs unlike the EVO and STI ECUs which have been completely reversed engineered (hence why they can pass emissions no problem using the stock ECU and flashing).

OBD1 conversion is a cheap alternative and allows you to tune nicely. AEM is another alternative but expensive. Either will suffice for tuning.

OBD1 and OBD2 are just protocols. It is up to the ECU to implement the communications protocol. You will not find an OBD2 implementation on any race-oriented ECU. This is why when u run a programmable ECU besides the one that came in the car, you will fail emissions (lack of OBD2 support).

Actually there is an s300 obd2 ecu from Hondata that has the capabilities to be tuned.....they added an adaptor to an obd1 p28/72 ecu to connect either obd2a/b harness......cost for it is about 900 if im not mistaken, so OP if you choose to stay obd2 this might be one of many other options

Actually, the only Hondata ECU which is OBD2 capable is K-Pro.

S300 is OBD1 extension module:

The s300 is a plug in module to the OBD1 factory Honda Engine Computer (ECU) which vastly expands the capabilities of the factory ECU.

That is just the connector. The ecu is still OBD1

It's an OBD1 ecu.
