do those "small" upgrades help that much, or is my driving just that bad?

They do help..

But..the reason why you're not chirping 2nd is because you are taking your foot completely off the clutch before you hit the gas again when shifting into 2nd. Try to put your foot on the gas quicker. You will most likely chirp 2nd then.

Try powershifting once..(keeping your foot on the gas when you shift). It's not great for the clutch, but it will definitely get you to chirp 2nd

I hit the gas at 1.5-2 seconds, dont feel like really getting into the vid to find the actual 0-60 but eh, wish the TL was lighter.

Im sure if I launch it, I could get a bit better 0-60.
