I've had that happen to me once with Mobil 1 filter. When I took it off, it was like all dented and with holes lol

After that, I've always used K&N filter, as it has nut welded on it for ease.

Purolator Pureones have groove grips on them so you cant really crush the filter when removing it. Plus, they're dirt cheap off Amazon.

is that a royal purple filter and gessshhh looks insane

no it was some cheap ****, stp i believe but i'm not 100% sure. i'm sure glad i don't use that crap on my own car. the filter inside is some crappy paper.


edit: also, the metal for the filter was thin as hell, i got a few cuts on my hands. couldn't use gloves cuz they just slipped
