personally, you can use any type of black paint. just lightly spray it and don't use too much layers of it. i tinted my corners on my 4runner. i sprayed with a normal black spray paint i found laying around in my garage. i just taped it around and spray painted it lightly. this is how it looks.

In terms of legallity, unless there are laws specific to your area, the only legal requirements for tail lighting is that you have 2 tail lights and 2 brake lights that illuminate red, 2 turn signals that illuminate red or amber and 1 reverse light that illuminates white. You do need to have 2 red reflex reflectors on the rear as well.

isnt it hard to go in reverse with no light? I had to redo mine cuz I had no vision with the reverse lights tinted.
