You think that now.. but i have actually done some research on this and it actually was developed and had input from cops. so the chargers, crown vics and soon to be caprice with their respectable police packages do have something to look out for. cause the purpose built E7 can handle what the current cop cars do nw and more.

but now for the new caprice... no civilian variants will b made...

that caprice just looks like a combination of a malibu and impala

i was just reading about this today... apparently 2011 is the year the switch everything... the caprice and Crown Vic are being sent over seas where they are going to send them to 3rd world or less profitable countries and the CV is being replaced with the New Tarus... some will get the tarus SHO which suprised me, it supposed to compete with the charger which is popular as well... and the caprice, I think they are destroying. and getting rid of it completely They are bumping down Impala's to municipal Services... Its to try to become environmentally safe because the new ones are super low emissions

and like u said the charger has become popular just like the new Tahoe's

i think those were just ideas... they have been coming out with many police interceptor prototypes for the past few years now like this

there are many types of police cars that car companies put bids in to have produced... its all a matter of what they chose. Honda of America even did once with the civic but it got shot down big time because police cars in american are only american made companies
