price quote on 5speed swap

i was just wondering, my tranny is going to die soon and i went to my dad's machanic and he quoted me 1000-1200 dollars for a new 5 speed tranny with everything u need to get going including labor. i wanted to hear some opinions on what u think of this price

Considering the quotes that others have posted on here in other threads, thats about right and kinda on the cheap side.

Thats an awesome deal seeing as how i'm about 850 in and have another 200 to put into parts alone.....do it :thumbsup:

alot of shops tell me 500+ with you bring your own parts... so u kno... if the shop is to supply the parts, then its in the thousands range, if ur supplying parts... less than a grand..

yeah the shop knows what hes doing. that guy alone has an ek in there right hand drive fully built b16 or b18 motor gutted out engine bay with turbo, and i guess his daily driver is an evo lol so he is very well into the japanese scene
