questions about scratch removal

I think I've ran into these guys in Sherman Oaks. Well at least from the ad it sounds like them. They were bugging this elderly lady to fix the bumper on her jag. This guys voice and just the way he talked was annoying so I didn't stick around long enough to see the finished product though.

wow those pics look like they do a clean job. I woulda thought that after you use a filler such as putty or bondo on a large area that if you were to repaint wouldn't there be a noticable paint (fresh/old) difference? and wouldn't there be a thicker zone of clear coat? I thought that there would be a bunch of sanding to get it even.
